Al Nassr suffered a 1-0 loss against Al Ain in the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium. This game was the first leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-finals. Al Ain topped their group in the AFC Champions League, where they had 15 points and won five games but lost one. Al Nassr topped their group with 14 points as well. Al Nassr won four games and drew two games.

In the first half, Al Nassr had a couple of chances on goal, with Cristiano Ronaldo trying an overhead kick in the box. The ball did not go on target, but it showed the athleticism of the Portuguese legend. Al Ain was threatening on the counter and almost caught Al Nassr off guard a couple of times. David Ospina needed to make a save to prevent some shots from Al Ain.

The home side did open the score in the 28th minute after a cross in the box was met by a great finish by Kaku, but the goal was disallowed. The goal for the home side did arrive just before halftime, as Al Ain scored in the 44th minute. Soufiane Rahimi's right-footed shot from inside the box goes into the net to give the hosts the opener. Kaku, who scored the disallowed goal, gave the assist for Rahimi.

Aymeric Laporte gets a red card, and Al Nassr loses the game

The second half was not better for Al Nassr, and they couldn't convert their chances. Al Ain did great to hold onto the lead, while Al Nassr couldn't finish their chances, including Cristiano Ronaldo. In the 80th minute, the ball goes to Ronaldo in the box and he shoots on goal from close range but Al Ain keeper Khalid Eisa makes a great one handed save. Eisa made five saves throughout the game.

Aymeric Laporte received a red card late in the game when VAR checked for violent conduct and brought down an Al Ain player. Ronaldo almost scored a screamer in the last few minutes of the game as he tried a long shot at the halfway line, but it went wide.
