The Champions League quarterfinals are getting closer as the first leg between Real Madrid and Manchester City will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu next week. Both sides played in their leagues over the past weekend, but the two have very different schedules before their clash next week in the Champions League. Real Madrid will not play this weekend as there will not be any La Liga games played because of the Copa Del Rey final, which will take place between Atheltic Bilbao and Mallorca on Saturday. Manchester City will play two Premier League games this week against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. Pep Guardiola went on a rant about the scheduling his team has to go through compared to other teams, and Real Madrid's coach reacted to the situation.

In a press conference for Manchester City, Guardiola was asked about his team's schedule ahead of the rest of the season. Guardiola wanted another day off and said, "We play Aston Villa at 20:15, then 12:30 [vs Crystal Palace] Saturday, 12:30! After we go to Madrid on Tuesday. Madrid have nine days to prepare, nine days! I'd like to think, ‘Oh give me one more day’, because the difference is a lot. No chance."

Carlo Ancelotti was asked about Pep Guardiola's comments about his scheduling problem after his team won 2-0 against Atheltic Bilbao in La Liga. Ancelotti said, "This is football; I'm happy with nine days to prepare for the City game. We have a small advantage, yes. But this won't influence the game. We have time to prepare the game, and we'll do our best."

Carlo Ancelotti watched Man City play against Arsenal

Carlo Ancelotti was asked who he was going to use in the defense for the game against Man City, and he mentioned that he was watching them play in the Premier League against Arsenal. Ancelotti said, "Tchouaméni or Nacho vs City? We have to evaluate many things. Tchouaméni was very important in midfield tonight. If I put him in defense, we will miss him in the middle. But Camavinga can also play there so we will see. We watched City game today. We will study and evaluate everything. We will prepare it perfectly."
