Real Madrid is breaking PSG fans’ hearts as they will soon take Kylian Mbappé to their squad for free this summer. No transfer fee will be paid from Real Madrid, and the French star will join one of the best squads in the world as one of the best players in the world. Even though the Spanish club is set to sign Mbappé, the La Liga champions are interested in more players. One of their targets is Lille defender Leny Yoro, who has been phenomenal in Ligue 1. Yoro is regarded as the next Sergio Ramos for Real Madrid, but now PSG plans to get revenge and sign the young center-back. Sports Zone reports that PSG has reached an agreement in principle with Lille to sign Leny Yoro for just over €50m [$55m]. However, the young defender still prefers to join Real Madrid.

Even though Yoro wants to join Real Madrid, the French defender may not be able to join since Real Madrid reportedly closed the doors to sign him this summer. The player is causing lots of interest around Europe since PSG seems to be the frontrunner for the signature of Yoro, along with Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United.

Another reason why Yoro may not be able to join is the depth of the Real Madrid squad. Many reports a couple of months ago suggested that Yoro would be the ideal replacement for Nacho Fernandez, whose contract expired this summer, and he was set to leave for free. According to Radio Marca, the Real Madrid captain will stay at Real Madrid for one more year. An agreement has been reached. Nacho was rumored to play in the MLS after his time at Real Madrid.

Leny Yoro’s value and his season with Lille

Leny Yoro’s current market value is around $45 million, according to Transfermarkt. The French defender played a total of 44 matches in all competitions with Lille this recent season, scoring three goals. Lille finished 4th in the Ligue 1 table with 59 points after 34 games played. Their record was 16 wins, 11 draws, and seven defeats under Paulo Fonseca.
