For months, newspapers, TV shows and social media have been flooded with rumors and speculation about the future of Kylian Mbappé. He is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 30 this year and it is still unclear what he wishes to do next with his professional career. His options seem to be three: stay in France, leave for Spain or go to England.

Although he would go to Real Madrid, PSG received the best news from Mbappé

Should he continue at PSG, he could do so by activating the automatic extension clause of his contract for another year, which would make this same situation repeat itself in 2025, or by accepting one of the renewal offers he has been made. According to reports, the French side are willing to pay him a salary of over $100 million per year for four seasons. At Real Madrid he would have a much lower salary, but a more attractive sporting challenge: to win the Champions League title. And at Liverpool something similar would happen with the chance to compete in the Premier League, one of the best tournaments in the world.

In France they are not optimistic about the future of 'Kiki' and are already thinking about the squad for next season. And in this aspect they have reasons to be upset with Mbappé. This is because during the last summer they spent a fortune trying to make him happy with the intention of keeping him for a long time.

To that end they bought two players from the France national team who are good friends with Kylian: Ousmane Dembélé and Randal Kolo Muani. The former cost more than $50 million, the value of his exit clause from Barcelona, but has barely scored one goal in 24 games. And Kolo Muani hasn't fared much better: despite the $100 million they paid Eintracht Frankfurt for him, he has yet to become an important player for the team, with 8 goals in 23 games.

They will need a new star

If Kylian Mbappé decides to leave PSG, they will be forced to look for a player who can take on the responsibility of leading the team. Dembélé, Kolo Muani, Goncalo Ramos and Marco Asensio have so far not proven to be ready to do so and that is why stars like Marcus Rashford and Victor Osimhen are mentioned as possible signings.
