This Premier League player is West Ham United striker Michail Antonio. Antonio is one of the hosts of The Footballer's Football Podcast on BBC Sounds. He gives his opinion on football along with another Premier League striker, Newcastle United's Callum Wilson. Earlier in the season, Antonio said West Ham would be able to beat Liverpool at Anfield and that his team would finish above Liverpool at the end of the season. Antonio said, " I am backing myself over Liverpool; you know what, I think we are going to finish higher than Liverpool this season. I'm putting it out there." Antonio felt confident at the time when West Ham was in the top position of the league table in September. Liverpool would go on to beat West Ham 3-1 at Anfield.

Antonio has also admitted to not wanting Liverpool to win the league this season a couple of weeks ago. Now he wants to make peace with the Liverpool fans and apologizes for his bold prediction. Antonio said, "At the beginning of the season, I said a comment. It was a bit wild. It was very wild. I said that there was a possibility that West Ham could finish above Liverpool this year. I’m not going to lie, I said it was my chest. I was obviously deluded at the time. So I am going to have to hand out a public apology to the Liverpool fans and the Liverpool players. I take it back."
