Liverpool is having a great season and is still on course to possibly complete a quadruple this year. It will be a difficult task when most of their key players are out due to injury. 11 players are out due to injury including the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander Arnold, Alisson, and Curtis Jones. Liverpool looks to win their first trophy this season on Sunday when they take on Chelsea for the EFL Carabao Cup trophy in Wembley Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp's assistant coach, Pep Lijnders, spoke in a press conference ahead of the Carabao Cup final vs Chelsea. He gave an update for most of the squad's injured players, giving Liverpool fans good and bad news. Lijnders spoke about the possibility of Salah, Nunez, and Szoboszlai possibly playing in the final on Sunday. Lijnders said, "Szoboszlai, Nunez, and Salah for the final? We have to really see. We have two more days; we will check".

Lijnders also gave an update on Trent, Alisson, Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones. Lijnders said, "Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, and Curtis Jones are expected to be out until after the March international break. Curtis is probably the first one [to come back] around the international break. All the others will be after the international break. Ali has a muscle injury. Trent, LCL. Jota, medial ligament, MCL. Curtis [has] a high ankle sprain."

Trent, Jota, and Alisson will likely miss the crucial Manchester City game at Anfield in the Premier League. The game will be played on March 10th, in a game that can decide the Premier League.

Liverpool knows their opponents for the Europa League Round of 16

Liverpool will play Sparta Praha in the last 16 of the Europa League. Sparta Praha defeated Galatasaray 4-1 in the 2nd leg of the Round of 32 of the Europa League. Sparta Praha won 6-4 on aggregate. The first leg between Sparta and Liverpool is expected to be on March 7th.
