Mauricio Pochettino seems closer to leaving Chelsea than staying at Chelsea after the poor results this season. Chelsea lost their opportunity to win a trophy this past weekend against Liverpool but lost late in the game. Chelsea is 11th in the Premier League table with 35 points and wants to qualify for Europe in order to bring more players in. The club is struggling with qualifying for Europe, and now they are still struggling with injuries. Pochettino was asked about the pressure these setbacks have caused the team.

Pochettino was asked if he was still in a good position to stay at Chelsea. The Argentine manager replied, "If I still have time at Chelsea? It's not in my hands. We have a very good relationship with the owners and sporting directors. It's up to them to trust or not. It's not the coach's decision."
While talking in the press conference before the FA Cup game against Leeds United, he mentioned Christopher Nkunku's injury. The French attacker was seen as a great signing due to his performances at RB Leipzig. Pochettino admits that it has not gone to plan due to the constant injuries Nkunku suffers at Chelsea. Pochettino said, " We were watching, and he was flying in pre-season until he got the knee injury, and now it's nearly eight months, and even when he was ready to be involved again, he was never the same player as before. We have in our head the best Nkunku that everyone knows from Germany, but that isn't the same player."

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf spoke about the team's current state this season. Leboeuf is unhappy with the results and says, "With the players they have, you can only complain about the result - that's why I'm upset. It's because they worked so hard. They did their best. That's why it's upsetting, as they all tried. But that's not enough for Chelsea... that's what it is! We cannot finish in the middle of the table. We cannot show the world that we're so fragile. We're Chelsea Football Club!"
