Salah joked around, saying his Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister but he also mentioned Messi. Salah said, "My favorite Argentine player apart from Mac Allister? Messi. I love Messi. He is.. Messi is Messi, I love Messi. I love Batistuta as well. I met him once in Argentina and got his t-shirt signed, but yeah, I love Messi."

Salah is not the only Liverpool player to admit to admiring Messi; this Liverpool player is also an attacker. It is Luis Diaz, and the Colombian talked about the moment he met Messi in person. Luis Diaz told Revista SoHo, "When I met Messi, I almost died; I almost told him, 'I love you and everything,' haha. Leo has always been my reference. Leo is the best in the world. I love him. I have his shirt, I asked for it through another player, he signed it for me and put it for me: 'with affection for Luis.'"
