Manchester City is known to have one of the best, if not the best, squads in all of Europe. Star players like Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and Rodri are on the same team. These are some of the best players in the world, and there was proof once the FIFPro World XI was announced.

In the FIFPro World XI, Manchester City had six players named in the best XI. Haaland, De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Ruben Dias, and Kyle Walker were named in the best XI. Although they still remain one of the best teams in the world, some Man City fans were worried about letting go of Riyad Mahrez.

Despite Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden playing in the right-wing position, Man City fans hoped to keep Mahrez because of his flair. Foden and Bernardo Silva have more midfielder characteristics instead of winger abilities. Mahrez had a great touch, skills, and pace. Mahrez has hinted in the past to leave Man City because of the lack of game time. Mahrez played 30 Premier League games last season, scoring five goals and registering ten assists. His last game for City was against Brentford in the Premier League. He didn't play against Man United in the FA Cup final, and he didn't play the Champions League final against Inter Milan. Mahrez has eight goals and seven assists in 19 Saudi Pro League games for Al Ahli.
