Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have once again been listed among the highest-paid athletes in the world. A new list by Sportico has placed them high in the top ten highest earners that are athletes. The top ten list consists of basketball players, NFL players, and even a golf player.

Sportico's list includes earnings from endorsements from brands and salaries. Patrick Mahomes is in the top ten but is the lowest earner out of the list. Since he was placed 10th, he reportedly made 78 million euros in the NFL. Kevin Durant is above him in the 9th position, earning 81 million euros in the NBA. The next two athletes are also in the NBA, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Steph Curry, who rank higher than Durant. Giannis reportedly made 82 million euros while Curry made around 92 million euros.

The next two athletes are two of the biggest football stars in the world. They were former PSG teammates; they were Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe. According to Sportico, Neymar made 112 million euros last year, while Mbappe made 116 million euros. These amounts were not enough to put them in the top four as LeBron James is ranked 4th on the list. He earned the most out of any NBA player, according to Sportico, with an amount of 117 million euros.

Lionel Messi is ranked lower than golf player Jon Rahm, but are both overtaken by Cristiano Ronaldo

Lionel Messi is third in the Sportico ranking, reportedly earning 121 million euros over the last year. Jon Rahm, a Spanish golfer, earned 189 million euros last year, according to Sportico. Rahm is number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He is ranked second in the highest-earning athletes list behind Cristiano Ronaldo, who is in first place. Ronaldo is the only athlete to earn more than 200 million euros, as his total earnings are around 255 million euros.
