Messi & Suarez guides Inter Miami to the QF of the CONCACAF Champions Cup

Inter Miami defeated Nashville SC 3-1 at the Chase Stadium in the Round of 16 in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Inter Miami won 5-3 on aggregate after the first leg ended 2-2 last week. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez scored again for Inter Miami, and their goals helped the team reach the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Inter Miami was looking for the goal quickly as Lionel Messi started to dribble past Nashville players. The goal arrived early as Messi played a great through ball to Luis Suarez in the box, and the Uruguayan placed the ball into the net with a trivela low shot. In the 23rd minute, Messi grabbed his goal to make it 2-0 for Inter Miami. Diego Gomez passed the ball to Messi in the box and sent the ball into the bottom right corner.

Inter Miami led 2-0 at halftime and was winning 4-2 on aggregate. Early in the second half, Messi was substituted out in the 50th minute and was replaced by Robert Taylor. Messi was seen telling Suarez to let the bench know that he wanted to be subbed off the pitch.

A third goal arrived in the 64th minute as the man who replaced Messi scored a header inside the box. Robert Taylor scores a header into the right side of the net thanks to a Luis Suarez assist. Suarez, who was just outside the box, curls a perfect ball to Taylor, who was unmarked in the box. The header gave Inter Miami a 3-0 lead and a 5-2 lead on aggregate. It was too late for Nashville to come back, but they grabbed a late goal in the 93rd minute. Sam Surridge scores from close range to make it 3-1 and 5-3 on aggregate. Inter Miami advanced to the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
