While FC Barcelona continues to struggle to bring in new players for the squad, sporting director Deco looks to make some moves happen in the summer. FC Barcelona is stalling financially, which makes Deco's job harder in the summer. Even though he wants to sign world-class players, he sees that challenge as almost impossible.

Deco mentioned that the club will try to make improvements throughout the club, with players and a new manager. Barcelona has a busy summer ahead as the team could look very different, even though they can afford to spend a lot. Deco spoke about many topics regarding the Xavi replacements and the players that could or could not arrive. Deco talks about Xavi's replacement, saying, "Who will choose the next Barça coach? We haven't started talking. We are still assimilating what happened with Xavi. It will be consensual. The president and I spoke."

Deco denies any rumors of Pep Guardiola returning to the club, saying, "Pep Guardiola is a great coach; there is no discussion. He coached the best Barça in history; there is no doubt about this. And he has also done his job at Barça and continued to win, and is perhaps the best coach in the world today." Deco goes on to talk about potential signings and not getting rid of important players in the team to raise funds.

Deco mentions that FC Barcelona would be worse if Kylian Mbappe joined while Frenkie De Jong and Ronald Araujo leaves

Deco talks about not wanting to sell key players this summer in order to raise funds for other world-class players. Deco was asked if the team would be better or worse with Mbappe in the team while the club sells players like De Jong and Araujo. Deco says, "Selling Frenkie and Araujo and sign Mbappe? I don't know where Mbappe will go, but I wouldn't sell neither Frenkie nor Araujo. We want to improve the team and not make it worse."

Deco continues saying, "We’d like not to sell any top player in the summer. It’d be a mistake to sell Araujo and Frenkie de Jong. I’d like to improve the squad, not to sell players."
