Manchester United and England fans excited to hear this praise for Kobbie Mainoo
Kobbie Mainoo has not chosen between representing the Ghana or England national team.
Manchester United fans are delighted to see Kobbie Mainoo's performances this season. Mainoo has received lots of praise before even making his professional debut for Man United. Mainoo has been playing more often this season for Man United and has been key to getting the team good results.
Mainoo made his Premier League debut last year in a game against Leicester City. A year later, he became a first-choice midfielder for Erik Ten Hag in the Manchester United team. In the FA Cup, he scored his first goal for Man United against Newport a few weeks ago. He scored a dramatic winner against Wolves last week. Man Utd are reportedly prepared to offer Kobbie Mainoo a new contract after his breakthrough into the first-team
Manchester United and England fans have wondered if the player is soon ready to start being called up by the senior England national team. Mainoo has played for the U17, U18, and U19 England teams in the past. Mainoo has another option to choose if he doesn't play for England. Mainoo's parents are from Ghana, which makes him eligible to represent the African country. Times Sport reports that Ghana FA are trying to convince Kobbie Mainoo [18] to ditch England to represent the African nation instead. FIFA rules allow this international switch to happen as a player can switch international allegiance within countries to which they are eligible as long as the player doesn't play more than three senior competitive games for a specific national team before turning 21.
England national team coach Gareth Southgate compliments Kobbie Mainoo's ability
Gareth Southgate talked highly about Mainoo's ability, which makes England fans excited. Man United and England fans expect the impression Mainoo gave Southgate to mean a possible call-up to the England senior national team soon. Southgate says, "I think he’s doing brilliantly for a young player. He’s had an excellent start for Manchester United. I’m not certain he’s necessarily going to be a defensive midfielder, as such. He’s quite a progressive player, but he’s had a fabulous start to his career, and it will be good to monitor him as we go forward."
