The City players included in the World XI were Ruben Dias, Kyle Walker, John Stones, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and Erling Haaland. The other players in the World XI were Courtois, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi. The Manchester club must feel proud of that achievement as they became the first English team to include six players in one World XI.

The number of City players that have made the World XI is at 12, leveling with Manchester United, who also had 12 players in the past. Chelsea remains the Premier League club with the most number of players in any World XI with 14 players.

Ederson was named The Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper of 2023, beating Courtois and Yassine Bounou. The keeper is currently injured from the 3-2 win against Newcastle United. Ederson did not make the World XI despite winning this award over Courtois, which has caused confusion among football fans.
