Man City and Everton are currently drawing 0-0 at halftime in the Etihad Stadium. City knew what to do with controlling the ball in the first minutes of the game. They dominated possession of the ball and tried to shoot on occasions from a corner and some neat passing in the Everton box.

After a few minutes of possession by Man City, Everton tried to create a chance, and they almost did after Ashley Young’s cross was blocked in the box. Ben Godfrey was close to scoring the opener for Everton, but he hit Ederson instead of the ball. The Brazilian keeper got to the ball first. After that duel, Ederson received treatment from the medical staff.

A little mistake at the back of Man City’s defense almost led to another chance for Everton. Jack Harrison picked up the ball and played Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but his attempt to chip the ball over Ederson was poor.

Doku was a threat on the left side as his trickery and pace kept creating chances for Man City. Erling Haaland did not meet his cross, as the Everton defense was solid and cleared it out. A few minutes later, Doku gets past two Everton payers to cross the ball to Haaland, but the Norwegian striker heads the ball over the bar. Foden was waiting for the ball to drop behind Haaland, but there was no communication.

Pickford and Everton continue to keep their goal at zero in the first half

Foden played a great ball to Matheus Nunes, who ran in the box. Jordan Pickford got to the ball first and took it with his knees. Everton tried to score again, but a Harrison shot was over and wide. Foden and Alvarez had chances to open the score for Man City late in the first half, but Pickford and the Everton defenders did well to stop those attacks.

With this draw, Everton goes above the relegation zone by one position and with 20 points. Manchester City are not taking advantage of Liverpool's loss against Arsenal last weekend. With this draw, Man City currently has 50 points and remains second in the Premier League table.
