Manchester United and Manchester City are the two biggest clubs in Manchester, and the rivalry has grown a lot for over a decade. Manchester United is still the biggest club out of the two, but the work Manchester City has done over the past ten years has been spectacular. Man United has not had a Premier League title since 2013, while Man City has won five out of the last six Premier League titles. Man City could create more history if they win the Premier League this season, becoming the first team to win four consecutive titles.

A Manchester United legend praised the work of Manchester City on the pitch. The Man United legend is Wayne Rooney. Rooney was rumored to have made a shocking move from Man United to Man City before City started to show signs of improvement within the club. Rooney talks highly of Man City's progress and praises Pep Guardiola for his managerial success. Rooney was also a coach himself, coaching Derby County, D.C. United, and Birmingham City.

Rooney had an interview with The Overlap. When asked if he would like to coach again and potentially become Pep Guardiola's assistant coach, Rooney replied, "If Pep Guardiola asked me to be his assistant, I’d walk there. You see what (Mikel) Arteta is doing now (at Arsenal) and I strongly believe a lot of that is from learning what Guardiola was doing, and so it depends on what the situation is."

Rooney praised Guardiola and said, "For me, the best manager is Pep, and you look at how he adapts – how they (City) are playing now is not the same as how they were playing four years ago. He keeps making these subtle changes and then you see everyone else trying to do the same. They also work harder than anyone else.”

Wayne Rooney believes something is missing within the current Manchester United squad

Rooney talked about the current Manchester United team and expressed his thoughts. Rooney said, "There's talent there, but I think there's a mindset that needs to change. I watch some games, and I think they're good, but all of a sudden, suddenly, there's a switch that flips, and they can go from very good to very bad."
