Just hours after making Xavi Simons a permanent signing, RB Leipzig could be facing a bidding war for the Dutch midfielder. According to reports in Germany, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City are all interested in securing the services of the talented playmaker.
Simons, who left Barcelona's academy to join PSG in 2019, has impressed during his loan spell at Leipzig. The Bundesliga side recognized his talent and swiftly exercised their option to sign him permanently on Thursday. However, it appears that Leipzig may be open to a quick profit on their investment.
BILD's head of football, Christian Falk, claims that Leipzig are willing to entertain offers in the region of €70-80 million for Simons. The initial fee paid to PSG for the player was €50 million (£41.8m), with potential add-ons that could take the total transfer fee to around €75-80m.
The interest from three of the biggest clubs in the Premier League highlights the high regard in which Simons is held. His attacking flair and creativity have made him one of the most sought-after young talents in European football.
It remains to be seen whether Leipzig will be willing to part ways with Simons so soon after making him a permanent member of the squad. However, the prospect of a significant profit could tempt them to entertain offers from the Premier League giants.
