Liverpool Hero! Liverpool beats Chelsea 1-0 and wins the EFL Cup thanks to Van Dijk

Liverpool wins 1-0 against Chelsea and win their 10th English Cup trophy. Liverpool and Chelsea drew 0-0 after 90 minutes of football played. Both Liverpool and Chelsea had chances to score throughout the whole game; Virgil Van Dijk's header won Liverpool the EFL Cup trophy.

In the first half, Chelsea had a goal disallowed when Nicolas Jackson passed the ball to Raheem Sterling. Jackson was offside during the play, and VAR stuck with the decision to not allow the goal to count. Liverpool also had a goal disallowed when Virgil Van Dijk scored a header in the box past Petrovic. VAR checked on the goal and determined that Endo interfered in the play and was in an offside position.

Chelsea keeper Djordje Petrovic and Liverpool's keeper Caoimhin Kelleher made vital saves in the whole game. Kelleher made nine saves, while Petrovic made ten saves. Liverpool had few options on the bench and had to bring on young players. Liverpool subbed on Bobby Clark, James McConnell, and Jayden Danns.

Liverpool had the first big chance in extra time when Van Dijk headed the ball to Jayden Danns, who headed the ball into the box, but Petrovic made the save. Diaz cuts inside in the 8th minute of extra time and sends a great ball to Harvey Elliott, who takes a shot quickly but hits the side of the net. Elliott wins a header close range in the second half of extra time, but Petrovic saves the ball on the line. Danns couldn't push the ball in in what seemed like the winner for Liverpool.

Van Dijk scores the winner for Liverpool from a corner kick

In the 118th minute, Tsimikas crossed in a ball from a corner kick, and the ball went to Virgil Van Dijk. Van Dijk ran onto the ball and slotted the ball in the bottom left corner with a powerful header. Liverpool wins another trophy under Jurgen Klopp, and it could be his last unless Liverpool wins the FA Cup, Europa League, and the Premier League.
