Many reports have suggested that Liverpool is the clear favorite to appoint Xabi Alonso this summer as their new head coach. Santi Aouna reports that Liverpool have made a first approach to replace Jürgen Klopp at the end of the season. They have contacted Xabi Alonso, following Klopp's decision to leave the club. Liverpool has links to Alonso since he was a player for the Reds from 2004 to 2009. Many football fans suggested Alonso a favorite to coach Real Madrid since he played for Los Blancos from 2009 to 2014. Carlo Ancelotti signed a contract extension till 2026, which closes that door.
Other reports suggest that Bayern Munich are interested in appoint Xabi Alonso this summer after his performances with Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. Alonso played for Bayern Munich from 2014 to 2017 but as of now, they have not yet talked to the Spanish manager. Alonso's Leverkusen are the only team left in Europe's top 5 leagues to remain unbeaten. Leverkusen are 1st in the Bundesliga and are five points clear of Bayern after beating them 3-0 over the weekend. A club that seems to have no connections to him is also interested in appointing the manager this summer.
