Liverpool could bring Xabi Alonso in to replace Jurgen Klopp, on one condition

Liverpool are still unsure what to do after this season ends. Jurgen Klopp will leave at the end of the season and will look to take a year off from managing football games. Klopp seems steady in keeping his decision final as he confirmed he will not manage a club or country next year.

Despite Liverpool losing Klopp in the summer, the club hopes to appoint Xabi Alonso as the next Liverpool coach for next season. It will be a tough appointment since the manager has expressed his desire to continue at Bayer Leverkusen and take them to new heights.

Bayer Leverkusen are still first in the Bundesliga ahead of Bayern Munich with 49 points compared to Bayern’s 47. Alonso is optimistic about ending Bayern Munich’s reign in the Bundesliga after the Bavarians won the last 11 Bundesliga titles consecutively. Alonso could still leave the club for Liverpool if he manages to win the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen are aware of the situation and are already planning for Alonso’s possible departure. The only thing that can convince Leverkusen to let go of Alonso is appointing a solid replacement for the Spanish manager.

Journalist Christian Falk reported that Hansi Flick could be a potential replacement for Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen is already planning to look at other managers since Flick is also linked to the FC Barcelona job. Falk said, “Leverkusen are preparing for the possibility of losing coach Xabi Alonso to the Reds. Hansi Flick was actually considered a potential successor. But the former national coach is at the top of FC Barcelona's list as Xavi's successor. In Germany, however, people hope that Jürgen Klopp will become the national coach at some point.
