Liverpool destroys Sparta Prague 6-1 and advances to the QF of the Europa League

Liverpool made it look too easy at Anfield as they defeated Sparta Prague 6-1 in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16. Liverpool won the tie 11-2 on aggregate and is in the final eight of the competition. The first half for Liverpool was pure domination, as they scored four goals in the first 14 minutes. Liverpool will know their opponents in the Europa League draw soon.

Liverpool scored the opener in the 7th minute when Darwin Nunez shot it first-time into the bottom corner while he was unmarked. Only a minute late, Liverpool scored their second. Bobby Clark scored after a terrible mistake from the Sparta players. Salah takes it away from Zeleny and Clark slots the ball into the net past the keeper.

Two minutes later, the third goal arrived. The Sparta Prague defense was all over the place as they tried to play out from the back again. Clark outmuscles Zeleny, and Salah rushes to the ball. Salah curls the ball to the left side, but the keeper goes the wrong way. In the 14th minute, Cody Gakpo scored Liverpool's fourth goal as Salah from the right side sent a ball in the box to Gakpo, who simply tapped the ball into the net. Sparta Prague scored a goal before halftime as Birmancevic got to the ball first, then Quansah and slotted the ball into the bottom corner past Kelleher, who rushed out.

Liverpool scores two more goals in the second half to seal a huge win

Early in the second half, Liverpool grabbed their fifth goal of the night. Dominik Szoboszlai inside the box takes a shot, which Krejci deflects. The deflection led to the ball going past the keeper, and Liverpool was still not done. In the 55th minute, Harvey Elliott takes a shot from outside the box, and Gakpo in the box gets a flick on it and sends the ball into the bottom left corner.

Mohamed Salah scored one goal and provided three assists. Darwin Nunez, Szoboszlai, and Clark scored one, while Cody Gakpo scored a brace. Clark and Szoboszlai grabbed an assist each as well. Elliott grabs the last assist of the day from his attempted shot that Gakpo flicks in the 6th goal.
