The Liverpool and Manchester City game at Anfield was a classic, as always. The game ended 1-1 after 98 minutes, and both sides had chances to score. John Stones scored the opener for Man City in the first half, and Alexis Mac Allister scored the equalizer early in the second half via penalty. While both teams had clear chances to score the winner, Liverpool demanded a late penalty in their favor after Jeremy Doku disputed the ball in the box with Mac Allister. Many Liverpool fans believe it's a penalty, but the referee and VAR did not give it.

The game ended 1-1 between Liverpool and Manchester City, and many expected to see Jurgen Klopp rush to the referee after the full-time whistle. Klopp shared a nice moment with Pep Guardiola as they faced each other for the last time as Liverpool and Man City coaches, respectively. Klopp spoke after the game and felt proud of his team. Klopp said, "The second half was the best we ever played against Manchester City, definitely. For me, we proved today the first time 100% we are exactly where we should be. We will fight for it and see what we can get."

Klopp was asked about the potential penalty at the end of the game where Doku has a high foot on Mac Allister. Klopp said, "It was 100% penalty. They will find an explanation. It was 100% foul in all areas of the pitch and probably a yellow card. He can only hit the ball because his foot is right there. They say: hit the ball. But if the ball is not there he kills him, the foot has nothing to do with it!. The referee will find something, all the other as well [to excuse it]”
