How Chelsea's Jackson sees himself reach the level of Karim Benzema

Chelsea did not expect their summer signing Nicolas Jackson to struggle so much in his debut season. After showing some great glimpses at Villarreal last season, Jackson was seen as an exciting prospect from La Liga. The Senegalese striker scored 12 goals and provided four assists for Villarreal in La Liga last season. Jackson has scored goals for Chelsea this season, but the number of missed chances he has is concerning to Chelsea fans.

Nicolas Jackson has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 22 games for Chelsea this Premier League season. He has taken 48 shots for Chelsea, but his conversation rate is not great. Chelsea has started to look at other strikers on the market to become the main striker. Some Chelsea fans are losing patience with Jackson's inconsistency, but the Senegalese believes he will get better. Jackson is raising the bar high for his potential and is not concerned with his missed chances.

In an interview with talkSport, Jackson said, "When I was young, I saw Benzema playing for Real Madrid. I was supporting Madrid when I was young & Benzema was missing a lot of chances. But you know, later he won the Ballon d'Or. I’m not saying I’m that level. I can’t be that level now. But I’ve seen it before so I’m not worried.” Jackson did show potential with Villarreal, and this is his first season in the Premier League. Chelsea will only have to wait to see a much-improved Jackson in the near future. If Jackson ever reaches the level of Benzema, this statement will age well.
