Chelsea are not having a good season and felt a low after losing 4-2 to Wolves a few weeks ago. Since that loss, Chelsea has won two games and has now drawn against Man City at the Etihad. Chelsea has not drawn or won a game at Man City's ground since 2021. Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was satisfied with the performance, especially from his team's first half. Pochettino said, "I’m so pleased. I told the players I feel so proud. In the last three games we’ve started to create a very good spirit. That’s the way we want to build our team. Today was a very good opportunity to show we’re going where we want."

Pochettino spoke ahead of the EFL Carabao Cup final against Liverpool next week and showed respect for the quality of both Man City and Liverpool. Pochettino said, "We need to feel it's possible to beat Liverpool. I think we’re playing the second-best team in the world. Belief is the most important thing. Today helps because Manchester City are the best team in the world. We can be proud of that performance.”

Pep Guardiola was not satisfied with the first half from Manchester City and sarcastically congratulated Pochettino

Guardiola spoke after the game and talked about his team's poor first half. Guardiola said, "Good game. First half we didn't perform too good, second half really good. We had chances, and in the second half, we were better. We played incredible in the second half. The first half was not our levels, but to compete against them teams, you have to play 90 minutes, not just one half." When asked about Pochettino's satisfaction with Chelsea's performance, Guardiola said, "Good, congratulations. If he believes that, that is good for his team."
