Lionel Messi is one of the greatest football players of all time and is a club legend at FC Barcelona. Messi found lots of success in football as he has won multiple trophies with the Catalan club like La Liga, and the Champions League. During the late stages of his FC Barcelona career, the team did not find lots of success and many Barcelona fans were upset at the state of the club. The team was not competing for Champions League trophies like they did before and then Messi eventually left the Catalan club in 2021. Messi also experienced many different types of players during his last few years at the club and were not at the level the club desired. Although one of Messi's teammates did not deliver on the pitch, he did found success outside of football, which made him into a millionaire.

The former teammate of Messi at FC Barcelona who found success outside of football is Danish striker, Martin Braithwaite. Braithwaite joined FC Barcelona in 2020 after the Catalan club paid a release clause worth almost $20 million on a four year contract outside of the January transfer window. The signing was heavily criticized by many Barcelona players as the striker was not an established name in football.
Braithwaite played in Toulouse in France for most of his career where he found an impressive run of form which did interest many clubs before. He then moves to Middlesbrough, Bordeaux, and Leganes before joining FC Barcelona. Braithwaite played a couple of times for Barca and sometimes along with Messi but he did not succeed and he transferred to the club's rivals, Espanyol. He currently still plays for Espanyol in La Liga2.
