Manchester City could be losing one of their most crucial players this summer in Ederson Moraes. Pep Guardiola has been using him since 2017, when the Brazilian keeper joined from Benfica. Now, the Brazilian could be heading to Saudi Arabia as Al Ittihad is interested in signing him this summer. According to City Xtra, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr wants to sign Ederson and compete with Al Ittihad for his signature. Ederson is likely to leave Guardiola’s Man City this summer after rumors suggested that the keeper is looking to have a different experience after winning his fourth consecutive Premier League title last week and the 6th one of his career. The Saudi Pro League clubs are once again looking to sign big-name players this summer from the biggest European leagues. Ederson is currently worth around $40 million, according to Transfermarkt, and he is 30 years old.

Ederson’s contract with Manchester City expires in the summer of 2026, which means that Al Nassr will need to negotiate a feasible fee that will please the Manchester club. A Saudi Arabian club like Al Nassr will likely bid high to sign him and could offer the Brazilian keeper wages that would be hard to reject. Ederson currently earns a yearly salary of around $6.4 million.

This season, Ederson has made a total of 43 appearances for Manchester City, which includes the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup. He conceded 34 goals this season, and he kept 16 clean sheets. The Brazilian has played a total of 332 games for Manchester City since he joined Benfica in 2017, conceding 257 goals and keeping 155 clean sheets.

Ederson’s latest injury

Ederson suffered a big blow to his eye socket in the Premier League match against Spurs almost two weeks ago. Pep Guardiola took home off the pitch as a precaution, but it was a great call. Ederson missed the rest of the Manchester City games this season and will not play for the Brazilian national team in the Copa America 2024. Ederson made the list for the Copa America but now he will recover from his injury in the summer.
