FC Barcelona is interested in signing a Liverpool player but he is now worth more than expected.

FC Barcelona wants to sign a couple of players this summer despite being in an economic crisis. The club is looking for many ways not to spend a lot this summer and continue being in debt. FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has stated that he doesn't want to let go of crucial players, even for a high price. While the club identifies what types of players they want to sign, Barcelona looked at the potential new signing from the Premier League.

Sport reports that FC Barcelona is looking for three types of players for this summer transfer window. FC Barcelona sporting director Deco knows that signing players this summer will be very difficult for FC Barcelona, but the club's transfer target is the permanent signing of Joao Cancelo. The Catalan club also wants a top-level defensive midfielder and a left winger with dribbling abilities.

FC Barcelona showed interest in a left winger from the Premier League. Barcelona were interested in potentially signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool. El Heraldo reports that Luis Diaz's agent informed FC Barcelona that they will have to pay €120-145M if they want to sign Luis Diaz. That is around $130 to $158 million this summer, a fee impossible for the club to meet at the moment. Diaz joined Liverpool for $51.3 million from FC Porto in 2022. Diaz has six goals and three assists in 27 Premier League matches and is a great dribbler coming from the left side in the attack.
