Although the club is interested in many players, Barcelona won't be able to compete with other big European clubs in search of quality young players. Barcelona has been interested in players who had little to no interest from other clubs. Now that FC Barcelona has shown interest in another midfielder, Bayern Munich has stepped in and has made it almost impossible for the Catalan club to try and attempt to sign him. FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich are interested in signing a defensive midfielder this summer and they are tracking someone in the Premier League.

FC Barcelona has been trying to find a defensive midfielder since last summer because of Sergio Busquets' departure. The Spanish midfielder has been vital for the club for many years, but after his departure, the team has struggled this season defensively. The Catalan club brought in Oriol Romeu, but he has not lived up to expectations. Barcelona looked to sign Everton's Amadou Onana for a reasonable price but now Bayern Munich's interest has increased that price tag.
