Kieran Trippier has been set to leave Newcastle United this winter transfer window. The English right-back was the first signing of the PIF-era takeover at Newcastle in January 2022 when he came for 12 million euros from Atletico Madrid. After two years with the Geordies, the player might make a surprising move to Germany.

Trippier is 33 years old and has been a crucial player for Newcastle for these past two years. As the captain for the team, Trippier guided them to their first Champions League appearance in 20 years. Trippier has claimed that right back position and help guide the team to avoid relegation in his first season and get top four in the Premier league the second season. Now in his third season, Newcastle have been struggling to match their previous season's form due to the Champions League games and the huge injury list in the squad.
The team were missing nine first team players in their Premier League clash with Manchester City last weekend. The team lost the game after leading 2-1 at halftime as the final score was 3-2 to Man City. With the team sitting in 10th with 29 points, the club look to bring in new signings for the amount of players injured. The problem with that is that the club will look to sell key players to avoid breaking Financial Fair Play [FFP] rules this season.
Newcastle were thinking of selling either Isak, Bruno Guimaraes, or Sven Botman, as those three are one of the most valuable. Newcastle would not have expected to make another sale in their captain Trippier as interest from the Bundesliga grows. The move could soon happen as the player seems interested in joining the German league and it could be official next week before the winter transfer market closes.
Bayern Munich have begun talks with Newcastle United over a permanent transfer for Kieran Trippier. The German club have already reached a verbal agreement with Trippier over personal terms. Bayern were chasing for Mukiele from PSG but an agreement for the player has yet to happen. Trippier would be the thrid English player to join Bayern this season, with Harry Kane joining in the summer and Eric Dier joining this winter.
