Endrick's agent recently spoke about how Chelsea was closer than Real Madrid in signing the young Brazilian, but the Premier League club did not want to pay him a huge fee. Real Madrid paid the fee as they trusted Endrick's ability and did not want to lose out on a young Brazilian like Neymar.

In an interview with The Athletic, Endrick spoke about Chelsea's interest in him, and the Brazilian revealed what caused him to consider joining The Blues in the Premier League. Endrick said, "I was attracted by the Premier League, the city of London, and the fact that English is the economically dominant language in the world. And obviously Chelsea is a strong brand that has won two Champions Leagues. I was told that it rains a lot in London, but that wouldn’t be a problem because, as my father used to say, I always liked playing in the rain. But I always made it clear to my agent that my dream was Real Madrid.”
