Real Madrid has many world-class players in their squad right now, as many players have been involved with goal contributions, including players who see few minutes. Real Madrid is still willing to grow the squad next season, but some players, including legends, might not fit into those plans. The club president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, is finding ways to bring in more star players this summer as they are reportedly targeting names like Kylian Mbappé, Alphonso Davies, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Real Madrid seems optimistic about keeping one legend rather than another legend who is open to staying longer.

Real Madrid is willing to offer a new contract to Toni Kroos, whose contract expires this summer. The German midfielder has yet to decide if he wants to stay in the club, but Real Madrid has reportedly told the player that he can renew his contract. Toni Kroos told TVE about his contract talks, and he said, "I’ll decide my future in one or two months, then we will see." The Athletic reports that Real Madrid has told Toni Kroos that he can extend his contract whenever he wants.

On the other hand, Luka Modric's future seems uncertain. Modric has reportedly said that he is willing to stay at Real Madrid next season, but the club might have other plans. According to the Athletic, there is still a conversation to happen between the board and Luka Modric. There is no precedent at Real Madrid of a renewal of someone at his age, but his recent performances have shown his magic is not over, and the Bernabeu loves him. If he does not renew with Real Madrid, another European team or MLS are options that appeal to him more than Saudi Arabia.

Luka Modric hints to Endrick that he will stay next season

In Endrick's letter to his little brother, he mentioned a moment he shared with Luka Modric.
