After the game finished, Xavi and Deco expressed their opinions on the second yellow card Roque received in the game. They mentioned that the club would appeal the decision because they felt the second yellow card was wrong. Roque tries to lift the ball over the defender's leg, but as he tries to do it, he clips the Alaves defender's leg. The Alaves defender even posted on his Instagram of the aftermath of his leg, showing a cut. The appeal would be denied, and Roque would miss the next game for Barca against Granada in La Liga.

Roque breaks the silence in an interview with Mundo Deportivo about the incident and expresses how he feels about the second yellow card he received. Roque said, "At first, I did not understand. It was a ball in which the defender came towards me with his foot in front, and when I saw him, I tried to turn my foot so as not to collide with him or get injured, but the player started screaming, and the referee showed me a red card. I was confused."

Roque continues and says, "I'm angry that I can't be available against Granada after scoring 2 goals in 2 games in a row. Because I wanted to be on the pitch to help my teammates as I was helping them, but now I have to keep my head calm and keep working."

Roque talks about what the referee said to him as he complained about the second yellow card. Roque says, "I asked the referee to explain why he gave me a 2nd yellow card. He said, 'It's not like Brazil here'. He was talking about that, that this is not like Brazil, and I just had to respect the decision and walked off the pitch.
