FC Barcelona won an important game in La Liga today after winning 3-1 against Deportivo Alaves in the Estadio de Mendizorroza. Robert Lewandowski, Ilkay Gundogan, and Vitor Roque were the goalscorers against Alaves. Despite the win, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez and the rest of the Barca players were upset about Roque's red card.

Roque came on in the 59th minute for Gundogan, who seemed injured and couldn't continue. Only four minutes later, in the 64th minute, Hector Fort finds Roque in the box with a great pass, and the Brazilian slots the ball in the back of the net. Roque now has two goals in the last two games, coming on as a substitute. This game didn't last long, like the game against Osasuna. Roque would get a yellow card in the 67th minute for hitting a defender's face as he made a run.

Only three minutes later, in the 72nd minute, as a Lewandowski pass is played to him, Alaves defender Rafa Marin slides tackles to get to the ball first before Roque. Roque tries to flick the ball over Marin's leg but misses and clips the defender's shin with his trailing leg. The referee gave Roque his second yellow, and the Brazilian only featured 13 minutes in the match!

Xavi was furious about the decision, and after the game, he mentioned appealing the decision since the red card would ban him for one game. Xavi said, "We are going to appeal Vitor Roque's red card. This is a mistake!" Barcelona sporting director Deco also spoke about appealing the decision as he said, "We will look for a way to appeal, to see how we can try to prevent the yellow card from being counted. In the end, he is growing."
