There is no sense of panic at Atletico Madrid regarding the reports linking Julian Alvarez with a move to Barcelona. According to journalist David Vinuesa Malbac, the club remain calm and confident that the Argentine forward will stay in the Spanish capital.

One of the main reasons is that Alvarez himself has no intention of leaving. The World Cup winner is fully committed to the Atletico project and feels comfortable within the team. So far, he has shown no interest in entertaining offers from any club, regardless of how big they might be.

Furthermore, sources close to the club insist that Barcelona simply cannot afford the transfer. Despite growing speculation in recent weeks, the Catalan giants are in no position to fund such a high-profile signing due to their ongoing financial issues.

On top of that, Alvarez’s release clause is far beyond what Barca could realistically pay. Inside the Atletico camp, there is a shared belief that the rumours lack any serious foundation and are not being taken seriously.

Since his move from Manchester City, Julian Alvarez has become a key figure for Diego Simeone, earning both the trust of the manager and the backing of the board. As things stand, he is viewed as untouchable, and only a personal desire to leave would open the door to negotiations.

Julian Alvarez settled at Atletico and out of Barca's reach

The Argentine striker is thriving in La Liga and is seen as a central part of Atletico’s sporting vision. The club see him not only as a vital part of the current squad but also as a cornerstone for the seasons to come.
