Lionel Messi has been shining for Inter Miami since his arrival last summer, but not everything has been positive since his last summer. According to El País, Messi's partnership with MGO Global has not been successful as the partnership has not become profitable. The exclusive contract with MGO Global, a clothing brand, has had losses of $7.1 million by the end of 2023. The company has opted to sell the Messi contract for $2 million and shifted its focus to selling flagpoles. MGO Global had a contract with Leo Messi Management [LMM] to sell Messi brand clothing for three years, and the Argentine was guaranteed a minimum income of $4.3 million and a 12% royalty on sales.

At the start, the business seemed promising as MGO Global tripled its US Market debut in early 2023. Messi's impact was felt by the company after it took less than a year left on the contract for the company to sell it. This year, the company has been valued at $6 million, according to El País, and the sale of Messi's partnership was needed to save themselves.

The same cannot be said about Inter Miami, as the club grew its valuation since the arrival of the World Champion. Messi joined the MLS club last summer and hasn't yet completed a full year in the United States; Inter Miami's valuation is over $1.02 billion. Sportico listed the top 20 most valuable football clubs in the world, and Inter Miami ranked 18th. The club's valuation increased by around 74% as it was valued at around $585 million last year. Los Angeles FC is the most valuable MLS club, which is around $1.15 billion.
