Anfield Party! Liverpool comeback in the 2nd half to win 4-1 vs Luton Town

Liverpool defeated Luton Town 4-1 at Anfield in the Premier League. Liverpool are still league leaders as the win puts them at 60 points in the Premier League table. Luton Town needed a win to escape out of the relegation zone, but the loss kept them at 18th with 20 points. Liverpool managed to beat Luton Town without some key players in the squad, but thanks to Virgil Van Dijk's, Cody Gakpo's, Luis Diaz's, and Harvey Elliott's goal, the Reds won at Anfield.

Liverpool struggled to score in the first half, especially Luis Diaz, who took six shot attempts. Diaz had a great chance early in the first half, but his shot went wide. This would come to haunt Liverpool as they conceded first in the game. In the 12th minute, Luton Town took the lead thanks to a header by Ogbene.

A throw-in by Luton Town from the left side led to the goal. Chong dribbles in the Liverpool box and takes a shot that is slightly deflected by Kelleher's legs. The ball bounces to Ogbene, who only needs to head the ball into the empty net.

At the start of the second half, Conor Bradley makes a great run in the middle and passes it to Diaz in the box. Diaz struggles to score again, but Luton Town defender Mengi blocks a shot in the box. Diaz took another shot in the box, but it hit the hand of a Luton Town defender. Liverpool claimed a penalty, but the referee did not give it.

Liverpool comeback in an impressive second half thanks to Van Dijk, Gakpo, and Diaz

In the 56th minute, the equalizer would arrive. From a corner kick by Mac Allister, Van Dijk runs onto the ball with a header, which makes the ball go past the Luton Town keeper. Liverpool turned it around quickly in the second half as only two minutes later, Liverpool made it 2-1. Conor Bradley throws the ball to Mac Allister from a throw-in, who crosses the ball to Cody Gakpo. Gakpo heads the ball into the back of the net to score Liverpool's second goal. Mac Allister gets his second assist of the game.

After struggling to score throughout the game, Diaz's goal would finally arrive. In the 71st minute, Andrew Roberston intercepts the ball outside the Luton box, which falls to Diaz. Diaz dribbles in the box and releases a calm shot at the near post at the bottom left corner to score Liverpool's third. In the 90th minute, Harvey Elliott scored the fourth of the game after Gakpo almost scored. Elliott sent the ball to the top left corner and completed a huge victory for Liverpool.
