Liverpool remains top of the Premier League table after winning 3-1 against Burnley at Anfield today. Liverpool are now on 54 points after 24 games played this Premier League season. Although the win was necessary, it could potentially include another player added to the long injury list.

Liverpool scored three goals courtesy of Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez. The front three look comfortable week by week. Liverpool fans are excited to see Mohamed Salah back from injury and join this on-form trio. Liverpool will focus on playing Brentford in the league next week. Although it seems like an exciting time for Liverpool, they also feel concerned with the number of injuries there are in the squad. Players like Andy Robertson, Dominik Szoboszlai, Thiago Alcantara, Tsimikas, Matip, and more have suffered injuries this season. Trent Alexander Arnold is injured again, and the fans are worried about losing him again.

Alexander-Arnold suffered his second injury in 2024 as he was out after the Arsenal game in the FA Cup in early January. He recently came back, but after today's game against Burnley, he was subbed out of the pitch before the second half started. Harvey Elliot replaced the right back and got two assists. Trent also got an assist, but he was subbed out as a precaution.

Klopp spoke after the game and explained the situation with Trent being subbed out early. Klopp says, "He [Trent] felt there [his knee]. He stuck in the grass. We will see; we need further assessment. Same area in the knee. Nothing really bad, but he felt it again, and we have to see, we have to assess it. Trent said it's fine, but it's not fine [because] he feels it so we had to be careful and took him off."

Trent Alexander Arnold now has the most assists for a defender in Premier League history

Today, Alexander Arnold's assist for Jota's goal made him have the most assists for a defender in Premier League history. Trent now has 58 assists, only one more than his Liverpool teammate Andrew Robertson, who has 57. Leighton Baines is ranked third with 53 assists.
