Liverpool lost their second Premier League game of the season after losing to Tottenham Hotspur in September. This is also Liverpool's fourth loss in all competitions this season. Many Liverpool fans were annoyed to see the mistakes of Alisson Becker and Virgil Van Dijk in the second Arsenal goal.

The first Arsenal goal came from a great pass from Martin Odegaard to Kai Havertz. Havertz shoots the ball at Alisson, but his save falls to Saka, who shoots into the empty net. The second goal was a loose ball that bounced near the Liverpool box. Many expected Van Dijk to clear the ball, but he let Alisson clear it. The Brazilian misses the ball and Martinelli puts the ball in the empty net. The third goal was also questionable on Alisson as Trossard put the ball through the Brazilian's legs.

Klopp reacted after the game and gave his opinion on the performance. Klopp was unhappy with the officiating and said, "A lot of things were against of us today. This referee gave me a red card against Man City for a wrestling situation between Bernardo Silva and Mo Salah. Today, same situation with Jota, but didn't get a red card. In general, we can admit that Arsenal deserve the three points."

Virgil Van Dijk takes responsibility for the mistake in the second Arsenal goal instead of Alisson

Van Dijk spoke about Arsenal's second goal and blamed himself for the error instead of Alisson. Van Dijk says, "A tough day. I think the 2-1 [Martinelli's goal] I take full responsibility for that. It’s one of those things I made the wrong decision. I should’ve just kicked the ball away. Alisson touched me a little bit, and he couldn't clear it, but I take full responsibility for this, and I will try to make sure this doesn't happen again."
