Liverpool and Luton Town will play each other today in the Premier League at Anfield. The last time these two sides faced each other in the league was back in November when they drew 1-1 at Kenilworth Road. Both these teams have completely different seasons, as Liverpool is top of the league with 57 points, and Luton Town is 18th with 20 points. A win is needed by both sides to gain an advantage in the table.

Liverpool is the leader of the Premier League with 57 points, and a win today against Luton Town will make them reach 60 points. Liverpool defeated Brentford 4-1 away from home the past weekend. Liverpool will use this game to prepare for the upcoming Carabao Cup final against Chelsea this Sunday at Wembley Stadium. Liverpool will be playing Luton Town with a thin squad. Liverpool suffered many injuries this season, and the game against Brentford was a nightmare for them. In the first half against Brentford, Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota were subbed off due to injuries. They will not play this game, and how long they will be out is yet to be determined. Other speculation suggests that Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah are also injured and will not play against Luton Town. The team could look very different from the one against Brentford.

Luton Town's recent age was against Manchester United at home, and it did not go as planned. An early mistake cost them a goal conceded in the first 37 seconds. Rasmus Hojlund scored a brace in the first six minutes of the game. Luton got one back minutes later, but they couldn't find the back of the net for the equalizer. Luton is 18th on the table with 20 points and is level with Everton on points, but the Toffees are ahead of them due to goal difference. With a win, Luton could get out of the relegation zone and start furthering themselves more from Burnley and Sheffield United.
