Although Liverpool couldn’t win either Premier League nor Champions League in the 2021-22 season, they were runners-up for both tournaments and Jürgen Klopp knows that they still have options of winning them next season.

Jürgen Klopp already found the perfect replacement for Sadio Mané once he leaves Liverpool

The Reds were able to win both Carabao Cup and FA Cup, showing that they have the level to compete at the highest level, but for that to keep happening, they know that they need to improve the roster and retain key players.

At least three of the players that have been essential on the successful stint of Klopp at Liverpool will become free agents next season, including Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, with the latter saying that he will fulfill his contract before deciding about his future.

Liverpool, with only one option to extend Salah

Although Liverpool has been in negotiations with the Egyptian international for a while, Salah has refused to accept any offers that he’s received, as he feels that The Reds are not valuing him enough to pay him what he deserves.

According to reports from The Athletic, the only way in which Liverpool will be able to convince the 29-year-old right-winger is to pay him a salary similar to the one that Manchester City gave to Kevin de Bruyne, who recently renewed with the Citizens.

For now, Salah is currently earning $13 million per season, making him one of the highest-paid players at Liverpool, but after four seasons having an outstanding performance, he believes that he should be paid at least $25 million per season, as he’s looking to sign a four-year extension.
