The most expensive signings in Barcelona's history
Two of the most valuable signings left the team for much less money.
Barcelona is one of the clubs that has been able to afford the best signings since 2000, despite various economic difficulties, changes of presidents and unconvincing results in top-level competitions. The azulgrana squad has gone from strength to strength, which has allowed them to sign big names such as Ronaldinho and Eto'o, who are far from the Top 10.
Philippe Coutinho came in to fill a very difficult gap for Barcelona. The board made an investment of 135 million euros for a player who never gave the performance they expected. He played as a midfielder to try to fill the absence of Iniesta; they put him as a winger, midfielder, however, he never managed to show why the Culés signed him, so he left for Aston Villa in 2022.

Ousmane Dembélé, the French footballer is the most expensive signing Barcelona has ever made. With a great poster, Dembélé arrived in 2018 as Neymar's replacement for the azulgrana squad in exchange for €140 million. However, injuries greatly diminished his performance at Camp Nou, for which he has been heavily criticized.
