According to the English press, the Uruguayan player has already been signed by the Reds.

Today has been a day out of the ordinary at Anfield as, according to the English press, the signing of Darwin Núñez by Liverpool is a done deal, ending a drama that has lasted for the Reds since the UEFA Champions League final, when Sadio Mané told the press that he wanted to leave Liverpool.
Since then, the Reds had been in a virtual race against time to find a replacement for the Senegalese striker, but it seems the club has now solved the problem.

And if what the English press claims are confirmed in the coming hours or days, it would mean that the Reds have completed the most expensive signing in their history, as Núnez would have arrived at Anfield for a price of approximately 100 million euros, an amount that exceeds that of Virgil Van Djik (84 million euros) and Alisson (62.5 million euros), but if all the variants of the contract with Benfica are fulfilled.

According to the British newspaper The Times, the 100 million paid by Liverpool in exchange for Darwin Núñez is divided as follows: €75 million (£64 million) transfer fee, €15 million (£12.8 million) in match variables, €10 million (£8.5 million) in club success variables, so the Uruguayan will sign a contract until summer 2028 (6 years).

Thus, what Jürgen Klopp will be looking for with the arrival of the Uruguayan at Liverpool is to form a top-level trident alongside Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, who won his place in just six months.
