FC Barcelona has suffered from the start of this international break. They lent 18 players of their main team to play with their national teams and now they're harvesting heavy and tough consequences. They now have 5 players to fall under what's being called the ‘FIFA virus’.
Xavi has lost Koundé, Debmélé, Depay, De Jong and lastly Ronald Araujo. This last one has been the most severe one so far as he will be intervened on Thursday due to an avulsion of the adductor longus tendon of the right thigh.

It's not all bad news to FC Barcelona after Araujo's injury with Uruguay. Sure, it is a very severe one that might take up to three months to fully heal and make the player available to train again with the Catalan club. In spite of that, Barcelona might have found a bright side to it.
Turns out Ronald Araujo is a member of a FIFA program in which the international soccer entity will have to pay Barcelona over 20.000 euros per day he remains injured. This only applies if the player is injured more than 28 days, which he will most likely be.
It's not the first time Barcelona profits from injuries
This FIFA program also has other FC Barcelona players signed on it. One of them is Ousmane Dembélé, who was constantly injured during five years in the Catalan club. Dembélé's injury during the last Euro earned Barcelona 2,7 million euros. Now Araujo will earn the Catalan club some money due to his enrollment in FIFA's Player Protection Program.
