Nemanja Matic had a brilliant career in England. Since he arrived at Chelsea from Benfica, he fought for a place in the Blues' starting line-up. When he secured his place he showed all his ability and level and ended up being one of the most important players on the London team.

But his career in England didn't end there. He continued at Manchester United. There he reunited with the Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho. Although at the end of his career with Chelsea he was not a regular player on the pitch, with the Red Devils he became one of the coach's favorites immediately.

If de Gea doesn't renew his contract, he would be the new Manchester United goalkeeper
Ready to go!? If the board would let David de Gea leave Manchester United in the summer, where would he go?

Since he arrived in 2017, it was clear that he would be a fundamental part of the team. But since José Mourinho left in 2019, his career at Manchester United went down in a tailspin. With the arrival of a new coach, he would no longer be part of the starting lineup. And then, he decided to leave at the beginning of the 2022-2023 season.

All the time he was at Manchester United he was able to see big changes in the team and the arrival of different players, as is the case with Harry Maguire, with whom he was able to share the field since the Englishman arrived in 2019. Those three years playing together were no small thing and for now, Matic defends Maguire from his critics.

What did Matic say about Maguire?

In an interview with the press, the now Roma player showed his discontent with the treatment Maguire receives. He said: “What people are doing to him, it is a disaster. Everything has to have limits and some of these people writing on social media, don't have their own lives so they just have to write bad things about someone else.”
