Arsenal and Manchester United have a common target, Lisandro Martinez. Ajax's 24 year-old center-back is a coveted target for the two giants of English football.
Erik ten Hag, who has already managed the defender in the Ajax team, wants the Argentine to shore up United's defense. The Dutch coach would have demanded his signature to the 'Mancunian' leadership and they have prepared a 50 million euro offer to tempt Ajax and thus obtain the services of Martinez.
Ten Hag is not the only coach who wants to take the Argentine to the Premier League. Mikel Arteta also dreams of signing Martinez to raise the defensive level of the 'Gunners'. The Basque coach's desire to have Martinez is such that Arteta has called the central defender personally to try to convince him to join the North London team.
At the moment nothing is for certain and Lisandro Martinez has joined to start the pre-season with Ajax, his current club.
If the transfer of the Argentine to the Premier League is confirmed, 'Lisha' would become the most expensive Argentine center-back in history, surpassing the incorporation of Otamendi by Manchester City in 2015.
