The Anfield side paid 4.2 million pounds (4.9 million euros), plus 2.5 million pounds (2.9 million euros) in variables, to acquire the services of the Scottish full-back.

Ramsay, from Aberdeen, has signed a five-year contract with Liverpool, who do not plan to send him out on loan but will immediately join the first team.

Ramsay impresses in Scotland

The Scot, who made 33 appearances last season, comes in to fill the gap Liverpool had at right-back, where they do not have a natural replacement for Alexander-Arnold and, when the Englishman has not been around, it has been out-of-position players such as James Milner and Joe Gomez who have had to cover for him.

Ramsay is Liverpool's third signing of the summer window, after spending €74 million on Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez and €7 million on striker Fabio Carvalho.
