Cristiano Ronaldo was notified on Friday about his registered offense by the FA in England. It all started when United lost a game in April against Everton and Ronaldo exited the premises in a very angry manner. In the tunnel to the dressing rooms, a kid wanted to take a picture of him and Ronaldo slapped his phone from his hand.

This caused the world to outrage against Ronaldo and call him names even though he apologized with the family and the public through his Instagram and privately via a phone call. Ronaldo has now been notified by the FA that he will be charged with ‘inappropriate behavior’ regarding this incident.

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently away on international duty with Portugal. The Manchester United striker is currently on the bench with Ten Haag, but he's a starter in the national team and has scored 2 goals in 2 matches of the UEFA Nations League. Ronaldo will face Spain in the next Nations League match and is focused in the results that may take Portugal to the ‘Final Four’ stage of the competition.

However, United has already issued a statement saying they will back their player and will abide by any decision the FA takes on the matter. The ‘assaulted’ teenager's mother has urged the FA to punish Ronaldo and stated he ‘cannot get away with it any longer.’

Similar incidents and their punishments

This isn't the first time a soccer player has inappropriate conducts with fans. Back in 2013, Eden Hazard kicked a ball boy in a match against Swansea and was sent off and charged with ‘violent conduct’ by the FA. In 2022, Patrick Vieria kicked and assaulted a fan who was stalking him on the field as a coach for Crystal Palace. His investigation is still ongoing in the FA. Ronaldo's punishment will most likely be a 1 match suspension and an 8.000 euros fine.
