In recent months, MLS has become the main destination for some important figures in European soccer. LAFC recently announced the signing of Giorgio Chiellini and is close to finalizing the arrival of Gareth Bale, while Toronto FC welcomed Lorenzo Insigne.

However, there are also certain exceptions. There are cases of some players who have been offered to MLS teams, but these teams have rejected the signing of these stars.

Such is the case of Marcelo, the Brazilian who won absolutely everything with Real Madrid, becoming a legend of the Merengue institution after his departure just a few weeks ago after winning the Champions League.

Marcelo was offered to at least seven MLS teams. Including both LAFC and LA Galaxy. However, none of the teams were interested in signing the player who for many years was considered one of the best left backs on the planet.

The arrival of European players to MLS is growing

Gareth Bale, who left Madrid in similar conditions to Marcelo, is only a few details away from continuing his career in MLS, while Marcelo will have to continue looking for a team after LA Galaxy, LAFC and five other MLS teams refused to sign the former Merengue player.
