MLS 2022 is about to begin and teams are looking to strengthen it, among them Orlando City SC who have a powerful reason why they could take Jesus Angulo from Chivas

The Mexican attacking midfielder currently plays for the Rebaño Sagrado but there is a big reason that could take him out of Liga MX and into MLS.

For this reason, Jesús "Canelo" Angulo could join Orlando City SC

Oscar Pareja, current coach of Orlando City SC was already the coach of "Canelo" Angulo when he was the strategist of Xolos de Tijuana in 2019 and because of his closeness with the player, his arrival to Major League Soccer seems more likely than many imagine.

This news was reported by the As media in its US version, which reported that through an exclusive interview with the coach of the Florida club, he assured that Orlando City SC could bring the Mexican attacking midfielder to MLS.

The coach explained that even though Angulo only played for him for one season and then left for Necaxa, he liked his abilities on the field and would like to work with him again

The Colombian coach affirmed that he made a very good connection with the youth players he met in Mexico, and wasted no time in acknowledging the career of Jesús Angulo and talking about his time with the Mexican national soccer team.

Although there is currently no formal offer for the player from the Florida club, the coach's statement sounds more like a message to the team's board of directors and although he acknowledges that signing him at this time would be complicated, it was not in vain that he dedicated time in his interview to talk about the player

Would a move to MLS be the best thing for the player?

Since he arrived at Chivas in the 2019-2020 season, Angulo has played 66 games for Chivas in which he has scored 8 goals and set up 4 assists

While these are good numbers, the player is currently not a starter with the Rebaño Sagrado and recognizes that his game has not been up to the level required by a team like Club Deportivo Guadalajara.

In an interview for the web portal Mediotiempo, the player addressed this issue and said the following:

"I know I can give more and I know it has not been a good way, I have not been at the height of what is deserved in Guadalajara, I know I will reach that level and that I will give those joys to the club. When I saw that I was not going to start I started to work extra hard to improve what I lacked and to be able to start a game. The moment I set my mind to it when I wanted to, I did it, and well, now that I started the tournament as a substitute, that's when I started to do some extra things".

Therefore, perhaps a change of scenery could be what he needs, trying his luck in another league and taking advantage of the connection he has with Oscar Pareja, current coach of Orlando City SC.

At least now it is known that the head coach of Orlando City SC is interested in him and has already expressed it, so it remains to be seen if there will be any reaction from the team's management.

Last season, the team finished in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, with 51 points, compared to 73 for New York City FC, which finished first in the competition.

The Florida club is reportedly trying to restructure its roster and is also interested in striker Ercan Kara, who plays in the Austrian Bundesliga.
