The news of his arrival took the club's followers by surprise and therefore, it is necessary to know more about the trajectory of this new reinforcement.

Who is Jesús Jiménez?

Jesús Jiménez Núñez is a Spanish footballer who plays in the forward position for Toronto Football Club of Major League Soccer, and before being signed by the team managed by Bob Bradley, he played for Górnik Zabrze of the Polish First Division, known as Ekstraklasa.

The player arrives at Major League Soccer and will remain there until 2024, with an option for 2025, pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and work permit. 

Where and when was Jesús Jiménez born?

The 28-year-old player was born in Leganés, Madrid, Spain on November 5, 1993, and began his soccer career in the 2012-2013 season with CD Leganés, and would later play for several teams in the Community of Madrid, including AD Unión Adarve, AD Alcorcón B, and Atlético Pinto in Spain's Third Division.

Later, on July 18, 2015, Jimenez joined newly-promoted club CD Illescas where he played during the 2015-16 season and would score 15 goals in 36 games.

Which other teams have Jesús Jiménez played for?

After having been in the Third Division, the player arrived at CF Talavera de la Reina, of the Spanish Third Division in the 2016/2017 season.

As soon as he arrived at the circuit the player played 33 league games in which he scored 26 goals, being a fundamental part for the club to achieve promotion to Segunda B.

The player would complete two seasons in Talavera, in which his number of goals would reach 36 goals after 68 games distributed in all competitions. 

How was Jesús Jiménez's performance in Polish soccer?

Jimenez starred for Górnik Zabrze in which he played 134 games and scored 43 goals in all the tournaments in which he was fielded by his team: the Ekstraklasa, the Polish Cup, and even the Europa League.

Jimenez made his debut for Górnik when he started against Moldovan club Zaria Bălți in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers on July 12, 2018. 

No doubt the player's addition to Toronto FC is something that coach Bob Bradley was looking for and about which he said:

"Jesus is a skilled attacker who has a combination of excellent movement and dribbling."

Bradley added: "He scores goals and creates chances for his teammates. We are looking forward to having him join our team on the training ground as we prepare for the season."
